The battle of Appomattox Court House was one of the last battles fought in the Civil War. It was fought April 9th, 1965. General Robert E. Lee surrendered to the Union's Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant. A treat was signed later that day. Robert E. Lee walked out of the courthouse and got on his horse.
